Before there was Elkader Auction House, our auctioneer, Kyana Taillon, ran a highly rated, upscale vintage and antique clothing shop called Roselein Rarities full-time for over 12 years. With Kyana's new focus on a faster-paced format, this auction features many pieces from her inventory—the lots with detailed descriptions and pictures with live models. Some of the photos do tend to feature additional items not included in the lots, even entire ensembles (Kyana's forté is envisioning, creating, and photographing these multi-item collections that give personality and context to the vintage items), so be sure to read the titles & descriptions for what's included in each lot. 

We also have eleven other consignors for this auction who are downsizing their collections, many from original owners. (We have one consignor who is 84 and another turning 90 in July!) Also a large Victorian clothing collection from Minnesota and many items including a massive vintage-hat collection from vintage shop Ferndale in Sumner, Iowa. 

This auction features nearly 130 vintage dresses and over 100 vintage hats! A huge collection of beautiful costume jewelry and an amazing Black Hills Gold wedding-ring set. Forty-five vintage and designer purses. Patchwork, retro, mid-century, flapper era, Victorian lace, novelty prints, Barbie-inspired pink collection, 1930s & 1940s rare lingerie, three Gunne Sax dresses, vintage gloves in every color of the rainbow! Many multi-item lots and gorgeous vintage bedspreads and linens including two matching handmade quilts! There are also quite a few larger-sized vintage pieces which are harder to find. Most often the general size will be in the title as a letter size (XS S M L XL XXL) for quick reference.

Inventory from Kyana's shop is being kept in a different location than our usual Elkader warehouse but many of the purses, jewelry and linens will be viewable during our regular in-person preview time Saturday, June 17 from 11-2. Items at the other location will be shown during a live online preview on Instagram Thursday, June 22 at 11 a.m. Central. 

This auction will run for three weeks, ending simultaneously with our next antiques auction on July 6! Because of this double-header ending, please be sure to note that pick-up will be Saturday, July 8th, rather than the usual Friday after the auction end. Bidding will be here on ElkaderAuctionHouse.com and takes place online only. You must register and have a credit card on file to bid. All credit cards will be charged immediately after auction close unless the total is over $1,000. A buyer's premium of 10% applies to all purchases. Worldwide shipping is available for all items in this auction.

We pride ourselves on quality items in a condition suitable for collectors, wear & resellers. All items are described to the best of our abilities in a fast-paced environment. If there are flaws, we do our best to show them in pictures and/or point them out in descriptions. A reminder that all sales are final and there are no returns for any reason. We recommend previewing items, if possible, or contacting us prior to the auction-end date if you have questions or need confirmations. Sizes are given as reference only and are not guaranteed. Pictures may not be used for any reason without written consent. 

To participate in an auction, buyer agrees to the following terms and conditions: 

1. A 10% buyer's premium will apply.
2. All items are sold as-is and without warranty or guarantee, without exception.
3. All sales are final.  
4. Please take advantage of the preview dates to personally inspect the items for sale. Elkader Auction House assumes no liability for the accuracy of the description of the items being offered. It's the buyer's responsibility to conduct due diligence prior to bidding, as there are no refunds, returns or exchanges. Contact us for details on any specific items before placing bids. This service is provided for guidance only, without legal obligation.
5. SHIPPING IS AVAILABLE. All orders are shipped insured and carefully packaged to arrive safely. Actual cost of shipping will be added to your invoice, along with the cost of packing materials and a reasonable handling fee. Large, unusual, or fragile items can be very expensive to ship. 
6. Credit cards on file will be charged immediately after the close of an auction unless prior arrangements have been made, or if invoice total is over $1,000. 
7. Removal is buyer's responsibility. Buyer must bring enough help, boxes, packing materials, carts, etc. to remove purchased items.
8. Buyers will hold the seller and/or Elkader Auction House harmless during the removal of their assets. 
9. Purchased items not picked up during posted hours, or arrangements not made within three business days, will be deemed abandoned and may be resold.
10. 7% sales tax will be added to all purchases unless shipped outside of Iowa. A completed and current Iowa sales tax exemption certificate must be on file for all Iowa resellers to be tax exempt.

Items must be picked up Saturday, July 8 from 11-4 or Sunday, July 9 from 11-2 at our downtown Elkader, Iowa, warehouse at 110 Mulberry Street Rear, in the alley straight across from the Elkader Post Office on the left. Our auctions move quickly and our space at the warehouse is very limited. Many of the clothing items are being stored at another location until pick-up day, so please note that Friday pick-up will not be available for this auction. 

Worldwide shipping is available for all items in this auction. Shipping may be combined with our other auction that also ends 7/6. If you require shipping, please let us know by 7/7. If you are a regular bidder or you have an out-of-state address, we will assume you'd like your items shipped and we'll contact you within a few days of auction end with an updated shipping invoice. Please call or contact us if you have any questions. Sales tax will be charged unless you have a reseller certificate on file or your item/s are to be shipped out of state.
